Introduction
In this project we used autodesk revit to create a utility shed. We first had to learn the basics of using revit for example making walls, floors and roofs. We also had to learn how to create a construction drawing that could fit our 3-D view, elevation view and our dimensional floor plan. With this project we had some constraints with our wall size, material for floors, and measurements. For example
- 12ft x 16ft footprint
- 8ft wall height
- One exterior wall should include brick
- Three exterior walls shall include siding
- A Gable roofs
- One single panel exterior door
- At least two windows
- B-sized construction drawing
Reflection
This project was fun and challenging, and a good way to get back to using Revit. I have used Revit before so this project wasn’t as difficult for me as it was for others. My experience with Revit was in a 8th grade class called gateway. I found some difficulty in finding the buttons we needed on Revit, changing the floor to concrete and creating the siding on the sides of the building. Creating the shed was easy, and so was adding doors, windows and using the A101 sheet. After using the instructions to create something in Revit, it was easy to understand the steps enough that I could repeat them and help my classmates with finding or creating certain things on Revit. I am looking forward to another project using Revit, and creating a bigger project that I can apply my skills of Revit too.
