Project Introduction
This weebly would be about the life-cycle of a product that we chose, and the product i chose was a water bottle and i have to investigate how it can be recycled and reused.
Timeline
Raise and extract
In the first step oil is extracted from the earth. Each year 17 million barrels of oil are used to make the plastic for the bottles – that’s enough to fuel 1 million cars for a year. Oil is very dangerous, to the workers and is also very dangerous to mine and can hurt the environment a lot.
Process
The material used for making water bottles is then turned into polyethylene trephthalate which is turned into a small tube which can be molded that is called parison. Parison is made by blow molding the polyethylene trephthalate which looks like a test tube.
Manufacturing
The plastic water bottles are made by first by whats called Injection molding. So a tube of Polyethylene Terephthalate, that is now called parison and looks like a test tube, is put into another bottle shaped mold. Then a machine called a mandrel is inserted into the parison and is filled with highly pressurized air.Next after the mandrel is used to put air into the mold Stretch blow molding begins. This step is caused by the mix of air pressure and heat in the mold that pushes the parison into the form of the mold it's in.
The third step finally is to let the bottle cool where it will maintain its bottle mold shape, and then removed from the mold. put through packaging plant, packaged and sent out. The extraction of: oil, propylene, and ethylene from the environment through drilling and mining for the plastic; paper from trees for the labels; minerals and spring water taken and filtered for water all go to the making of water bottles.

Use
After water bottles are sent out they are then used for a variety of reasons. Specifically to be bought and drank or used for whatever water required activity. After water bottles are used and empty they are also used to make recycled material, and recycling water bottles can help the environment to by decreasing pollution little bits at a time.
Dispose
Plastic water bottles take decades for it to decompose, and when not recycled correctly it can go into the ocean and pollute waters, and can also hurt the marine animals. Some ways they can be reused are melting them, Washing them so they can resell them and shredding them.

Conclusion Questions
- Is the cycle through which every product goes through from the introduction to withdrawal.
- Its important because they have to know what could happen with their product if people throw it away and they would also have to know that if it gets lose in nature, how would it affect it.
- I would make the product out of something that doesn't use so much oil and make it out of materials that wont hurt the wildlife or ocean.I would change the material because even though water bottles are reusable, they still take decades to deteriorate.
- I believe my product will evolve because scientist's will discover more materials that the bottles could be made off.
- a balance achieved between two desirable but incompatible features; a compromise.
- Yes because, nothing is perfect and sometimes there has to be compromises so the product can still full fill its goals but still have some problems.
- Its important to recycle because if we don't its going to land in our oceans and hurt are marine life. And it also helps us use less fossil fuels which also pollutes the air.
- They make their products able to be recycled or reused instead of them having a one time use.
- Some countries have citizens buy boxes for plastics and recyclables, so they can trade them in for money. Some also have machines that allow citizens to take used bottles and have them washed and refilled.
- we can start saving our water bottles so we can reuse them, or we can all get our own special cup which is what we drink water from and every time we reuse it just wash it.
